FAQs

What is the difference between rounds and coins?

Coins refer to legal tender meaning that they have been issued by a specific country, and that the coin is currency. For the example the 1 oz American Gold Eagle has a value of $50 USD.

Rounds are bullion products that can be released by any number of private mints, and are not considered currency.

Should I take my bullion out of original packaging?

Your bullion is yours and you are free to do with it as you please, however it is useful to remember that opening original mint/manufacturer packaging may lower the resale value in the future.

The tamper-evident packaging means you can rest assured you have authentic gold. Veldt Gold also checks the authenticity of its products when they arrive at our facility and before they are shipped out to our customers.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Wire Transfers for payment.

Why do you not accept credit cards for bullion purchases?

To stay competitive and to protect our customers from high fees associated with using credit cards we do not them as a method of payment.

I weighed my 1 ounce coin and it doesn’t weigh a full ounce! Is it fake?

Precious metals use a Troy Ounce standard of measurement. One troy ounce is 31.103 grams as opposed to a standard ounce of 28 grams. Your 1 troy ounce coin will always weigh more in regular ounces. Unless your scale has the ability to measure in troy ounces, we recommend that you always measure your bullion in grams. Please check our Weights and Measures page for more information.
