The reverse side of the 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin showcases one of two designs featuring the American bald eagle. From 1986 to mid-2021, Miley Busiek’s depiction of a family of eagles around a nest was used. Since mid-2021, Jennie Norris’ design of a bald eagle’s head in left-profile relief has graced the coin.
